The Triumvirate is looking for Journalists

The North American Forum on Integration (NAFI) would like to invite undergraduate and graduate journalism students to participate in the third edition of the Triumvirate.

 

The Triumvirate is a Model Parliament that brings together 100 senior undergraduate and graduate university students from the United States, Canada and Mexico to simulate, during five days, a parliamentary meeting between Canadian, Mexican and American national and parliamentarians.

Triumvirate main objectives

 

To raise awareness among future North American leaders regarding regional integration issues.

 

To inform the current decision makers of the priorities and concerns of the North American youth.

 

To help participants better understand NAFTA’s political, economic and social realities.

During the five days, journalists will create, edit and publish the TrilatHerald - Triumvirate’s official newspaper.

 

The TrilatHerald is a trilingual newspaper that reports discussions and debates related to North American issues as well as challenges encountered by delegates.

 

The TrilatHerald is a communication tool between legislators and lobbyists. It also informs the greater public about developments and progress of the event. The daily publication will be distributed to the participants, the Triumvirate partners and will also be available on NAFI’s website.

 

REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE
Working as a journalist at the Triumvirate is a real life opportunity for students. They will be fully responsible for publishing the newspaper on a daily basis.  

 

The TrilatHerald journalist will have the opportunity to interview important political figures and network with people from the North American political and economic milieu.

This experience is an excellent opportunity to put the student’s skills and knowledge into practice.  Journalists will be responsible for all stages of a newspaper creation. They will be assigned to create, edit, design and publish articles in three languages.

 

 

LOOKING FOR JOUNALISTS

We are looking for seven motivated bilingual individuals (among English, French and Spanish) who are effective team players, work well under pressure and are familiar with journalism software such as Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXpress.
